To convert pixels to inches for printing, divide the pixels by the DPI. For high-quality 300 DPI printing, 3000 pixels equals 10 inches, and 2400 pixels equals 8 inches.

If the result is smaller than you need, you have two options: reduce the target print size to fit your current pixel count, or go back to your source file and increase the canvas resolution before re-exporting. Do not simply upscale the image — resampling from a smaller file adds pixels by interpolation and makes fine detail soft.

You need 1200 × 1800 pixels. Multiply each print dimension by 300: 4 × 300 = 1200 px wide, 6 × 300 = 1800 px tall.
You need 2400 × 3000 pixels. Multiply: 8 × 300 = 2400 px wide, 10 × 300 = 3000 px tall.
Yes — for large posters viewed from a distance, 150–240 DPI is often acceptable. For artwork viewed up close, such as art prints and photo books, 300 DPI is the safe standard.
Screens display at 72–96 PPI and look sharp at low pixel counts, but printing at 300 DPI requires far more pixels. A 1000 px image looks fine on screen but only prints cleanly at about 3.3 inches wide.
PPI (pixels per inch) describes screen pixel density. DPI (dots per inch) refers to physical ink dots in a print. When a print lab asks for 300 DPI, they want 300 pixels for every inch of the final print.
